Welcome to the new and improved website of the Halton Hills Sports Museum and Resource Centre. Our Museum “Curators Committee” is in the process of updating the information, this and other revamps will make it more user friendly and will provide up-to-dated information about the progress of the Museum. Included on this site will be the procedure for nominating someone for induction into the Sports Hall of Fame, the Categories for which they can be nominated, the Inductees, Museum news, the History of Sports in Halton Hills, links to local sporting groups, and a photo gallery from the past.
The "GRAND OPENING" last fall was very well attended and received!
Many of our cabinets have been installed and relevant memorabilia is being put
on display by various Sports Groups showcasing their sports history.
2010 “Hall Of Fame Induction Gala”
slated for June 17, 2010. See INDUCTEE PAGE for further information.
Our “Curators Committee” is seeking items of interest people may have in their
possession which they may be willing to lend or donate to our museum for the
purpose of archiving or displaying for the enjoyment by others and to learn what
Halton Hills has to offer the citizens of this great community. These items include
photographs, medals, trophies, equipment, special awards, paintings/caricatures
and etc. Also, if you have any stories about events that have happened which may
be of historical interest we would love to hear from you.
Please surf our “New and Improved” web site regularly, we will do periodic updates and post information of value.
As the Chair of the Halton Hills I am pleased to see the new Sports Museum
growth and enthusiasm in and from our membership. The success of our
“Hall of Fame Gala” as a showcase event to honour significant sports
achievement in our community has helped us launch other new initiatives.
Our newly elected Curator, Bruce Andrews, and his Museum Committee
have taken on and extraordinary and aggressive campaign to launch a
“Grand Opening” of displays in the Fall in 2009 as well as other exciting
projects that will be announced throughout the year.
We look ahead with renewed enthusiasm and drive to provide Halton Hills
with a first class Sports and support structure. Museum
Volunteers are needed from every sport. If you have an interest in promoting and preserving Halton Hills sports history please contact us
